Mixed Martial Arts:

Ipswich: Last session: Tuesday 22nd December 2009.  Restarts: Tuesday January 12th 2010.

Young Grapplers:

Last session: Sunday 20th December 2009.  Restarts: Wednesday January 10th 2010.

Kids Hybrid Martial Arts:

Mendlesham: Last session: Tuesday 15th December 2009.  Restarts: Tuesday January 12th 2010.

Woodbridge: Last session: Wednesday 16th December 2009.  Restarts: Wednesday January 6th 2010.

Chad wins belt at ECFF…

BlueWave member and BJJ Blue Belt Chad Malley made his MMA debut last last Saturday at East Coast Fight Factory.

Due to pullouts in the main event, Chad headlined the show (under pro class B rules) and put in a flawless performance.

Securing a takedown within 10 seconds of the start of round one, Chad dominated the top position for the whole round landing a succession of short punches and submission attempts.

The second round was no different with Chad getting a very quick takedown and again controlling from the top for the entire round.

Scores from the judges were 20-17 across the board.

Chad won the East Anglian Welterweight belt in Style!

Kent Open 2: 2009…

Held in the second weekend of November, a team from BlueWave atteded the second annual Kent Open hosted by our parent club Carlson Gracie BJJ Revolution Team’.

Medals were taken by Jason French (Gold) and Jay Hart (Silver) with the reamining fighters giving excellent performances is some stacked brackets.  Though not gaining a medal, Ryan won 6 matches on his way through the repechage to fourth place.
