BlueWave Fighters win at ECFF – 5th March
Norwich – East Coast Fight Factory – 5th March 2011
Four BlueWave fighters competed at the most recent ECFF event in Norwich. All competitors gave excellent accounts of themsleves along with rapturous support from the rest of the team in the crowd.

Amateur – Simon Matthews – WIN by decision.
Amateur – Niall Grant – LOSS by decision.
BlueWave Has 2 European BJJ Champions!
Congratulations to our Ipswich instructor Andre Pimenta & Chuck Wadell who took gold medals in the 2011 European BJJ Championships in Lisbon, Portugal.
Competing in the brown belt light-weight masters division, Andre won 4 fights on his way to the gold medal.
Competing in the white belt super-heavy masters division, Chuck won 3 fights on his way to the gold medal.
Chad Malley won 3 fights on his way to a silver in the blue belt middle-weight masters division.
Well done to Iain Mackintosh, Tom Aylot and Vic Babuata who also competed.
Ryan Beauregard Seminar 25/01/11…
Black belt and 2008 Mundials World Champion Ryan Beauregard will be giving a seminar on Tuesday 25/01/11, 7:30pm – 9:45pm at Abbey Croft Leisure Center, Bury St Edmunds.
The cost will be £20.

Ryan Beauregard visits BlueWave Ipswich…
Black belt and 2008 BJJ World Champion Ryan Beauregard has been finishing up his prep work for the upcoming European Championships here in Suffolk and along with regular black belt Demetrius Ramos, visited the Tuesday class at our Ipswich venue.
We’ve hosted Ryan before on his previous trip to the UK and it was a pleasure to have him back once again.

Christmas is fast racing towards us so here’s the club opening times for the fortcoming holiday season:

5 New Blue Belts at BlueWave Ipswich…
Last friday, Demetrius Ramos promoted five of the club members in Ipswich to blue belt.
Congratulations to: Mark Nixon, Ashley Brock, Steve Beames, Darren K & Layney.
English BJJ Open 2010…
November 5th & 6th 2010 saw close to 700 competitors descend upon the Dartford Judo center to take part in the ‘English Open 2010′.
Hosted by Carlson Gracie HQ, the event is the largest tournament in Europe outside of the official IBJJF European Championships.
22 Students from BlueWave took part in the 2 days of intense competition.

There were some great performances in the massive white belt divisions (some up to 55 competitors in a single bracket!), with Chuck Wadell taking a gold medal in the masters <100.5Kg, Iain Mackintosh coming through 5 matches to win silver in the masters <82Kg and Maz Upson taking silver in the womens <58Kg category.
Sunday saw the blue belts take to the mats with a good performance from Jack Lister (<70Kg) and a silver medal for Josh Palmer in the <94.3Kg division.

BlueWave Carslon Gracie sweeps ‘Dynamite 2′ Interclub…
The team attended a fun & relaxed no-gi interclub hosted by ‘Dynamo Muay Thai & Vale Tudo’ in Felixstowe.
The setup was: 5 minute fights, no points, just cumulative subs.
More subs after 5 mins = 3 points, draw = 1 point. Fight everyone in weight division.
BlueWave Carlson Gracie swept the competition and won all 4 divs (out of a total 5) we entered:
