ReverseAll GT – Vol 2 – Competition Report…
Sunday 25th October 2009 – Some of the ‘BlueWave BJJ Competition Team’ joined our friends from ”Tsunami Pro-Am Fight Center’ and travelled down to the second ‘ReverseAll GT No-Gi Competition’ in Colchester.
Medals were taken in the Novice Division by BlueWave members Jamie Hart (Gold) and Andre Goncalves (Silver).
In the Advanced Division, Chad Malley picked up a silver medal after dropping a hard final match (Triangle Choke) to UFC veteran and BJJ Brown belt Jason Tan whilst Josh Palmer took bronze after losing (Kimura) to former UWC heavyweight champion Stav Economou.
The next RAGT tournamnet will be in March 2010.
New BJJ Purple Belt at BlueWave!…
We are very pleased to announce that on Sat 19th September, BlueWave head coach Windy Miller was awarded his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt by Wilson Jr!
Windy was awarded his belt infront of 71 Students at the recent Carlson Gracie Jr seminar at Carlson Gracie Hammersmith. As is tradition with BJJ belts he was then ‘thrown’ by the 4 black belts in attendance and walked the ‘whipping’ gauntlet (Video soon to be on YouTube!) with style.

BlueWave Coach Lee Doski Wins at UCUK…
BlueWaves MMA coach and BJJ purple belt Lee Doski wins in Round 1 at Ultimate Challeng UK: Payback.
Lee dominated his opponent on the ground and secured the victory via rear naked choke.

SUMMER HOLIDAY TIMES – AUGUST…
Dear All,
Please be aware that due to summer vacation times, training will not be taking place on the following dates:
- Beyton: Friday 7th / 14th / 21st
- Woodbridge: Wednesday 12th / 19th
- Mendlesham: Tuesday 11th / 18th
NOTE: All BJJ and MMA classes will continue as normal.
BlueWave Summer Course 2009…
The ‘BlueWave Summer Course 2009′ is nearly here!
The 4th annual summer course will be held at Mendlesham Primary School on the weekend of 25th/26th July.
This is a good chance to train with Instructors from many different disciplines and develop your skills as well as meet new people from all the BlueWave affiliate clubs. You will be able to try: advanced kicking, pad work, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Submission Grappling, weapons training (sticks and nunchuku), self defence, kata, sweeps, takedowns and much more.
Here are some of the outstanding instructors already lined up for 2009:
The format for the weekend is as follows:
Friday night BEFORE 9.00 pm /Saturday BEFORE 8.30 am Arrival and pitch tents.
Saturday 10.00 am Line up and warm up
10.30 -12.30 Mixed training.
12.30- 2.00pm Lunch
2.00pm – 4.00pm Mixed training
5.30pm Barbeque and Disco
Sunday 8.00am Breakfast
9.00 am Tai chi
10.00 am Line up and warm up
10.30-12.30 Mixed training
12.30-2.00 pm Lunch
2.00pm – 4.00 pm Mixed training
4.15 pm Line up
4.30pm Course end
Instructors are CRB checked and 1st Aid Qualified. There will be security (1st aid and CRB checked) at night. The school kitchen and Barbeque will be run by the qualified school chef and the emphasis will be on healthy eating.
The cost of the course is £60.00 per student and £35.00 for every additional student of the same family. Therefore three children in a family would pay a total of £100.00. A brother and sister £95.00. This includes Training, Grading, Meals, Disco and Barbeque. Parents accompanying children pay £15.00 each. Places on the course are limited to 120 people only so book now to reserve your place.
We must know in advance if you wish to come in order to organise the catering so all places must be reserved by July 21st.

Rodrigo Medeiros Seminar…
We are very pleased to announce the return of Rodrigo Medeiros to BlueWave!
Rodrigo will be teaching a seminar on Sunday 28th June, 3-6pm.
The seminar will cost £30. Venue: Abbeycroft Leisure Center, Bury St Edmunds.
Rodrigo is one of the best BJJ fighters to have competed in the sport and it is an honor to have him back at our academy. This is a seminar not to be missed!
BlueWave Medals at Essex Open…
On Sunday 3rd May, BlueWave headed down to the Essex BJJ Open in Daggenham as part of Carlson Gracie Revolution Team.
We had 9 fighters in attendance and took home 3 medals!
Congratulations to: Chad Malley (Gold), Andrew Ohls (Silver), Adrian Joncyzk (Silver)
Carlson Gracie Revolution Team also won the team event, making it 4 tournaments in a row! Carlsons ended the competition with 228 Points. The second place team was Roger Gracie Academy with 131 Points.

Royce Gracie 2nd Seminar…
Tuesday 28th April saw BlueWave Martial Arts host its second seminar from UFC legend Royce Gracie.
There was an excellent turnout for this informative session and a great time was had by all.
